TEST DRIVE Welcome to Visada's TDM! Feel free to get as creative as you'd like with these prompts. None of the threads will count as game canon. This is just to give you a chance to play around with the setting and get a general idea of just some of things that can be done in the game. OPTION 1 Mistress Philenor, one of the vivacious butterfly-winged fairies that runs a shop in town, has asked you and another helpful soul to go out to the small lake on the northwestern side of the island and pick some Swallowtails. She needs a bushel of the flowers to make more of her popular aphrodisiacs. You and your partner for the outing leave the village and make your way to your destination. The water in the lake is clear and fresh, you can almost see all the way to the bottom. A small island sits in the middle of the lake, within swimming distance to those so athletically inclined. A tiny stream travels off to the west, emptying into the sea. On the southern shores of the lake grow the Swallowtails: great flowers of vibrant hues of blue. Just remember Philenor's warning. Breathing too deeply of the pollen may have unintended consequences. OPTION 2 Word arrives by lamassu post that there's unrest with the sea dragons. They're refusing to aid the villagers and transportation between the main island and the smaller one to the east has been cut off. People have been stranded there for two days now and something must be done. You volunteer to help and head toward the eastern shore. Maybe you meet others on your way and you decide to work together to see if you can resolve this. Maybe you enlist someone else's help when you learn that Lagiocrus (an ancient blue dragon) is cross with his nephew Jura (a young, free spirited green fellow who doesn't have much respect for people yet) over his foolish courtship of the princess Galzra (a haughty blue dragon from the far north). All of the other dragons in the vicinity are too caught up in the drama to worry about the petty concerns of mortals. Convince Lagiocrus that young love should triumph, or at least be allowed to get its heart broken. Talk up Jura to the disinterested object of his affection. Try to get Jura to see that there are other dragons in the sea. Or find some other way to either end the argument or lure the other dragons' interest back to helping out their landlocked neighbors. OPTION 3 After a long week, you want nothing more than to relax at the beach. It's a great day for it. Fair skies, warm sands, calm surf, and naked bodies sunning themselves along the shore. Wait. Yes, that's right. This is a nude beach. Or if it wasn't, it is now that the first visitor decided to exchange bathing suit for birthday suit. Do you join in? Ogle your neighbors? Swagger up to the hottie on the yellow towel a few yards away and start a conversation? Have fun. Enjoy yourself. You've earned the day off. OPTION 4 Wildcard! Make up your own prompt! Play around with the setting however you'd like.

Right. Non-Earth is probably a thing now. [Who woulda thought.] I'm from the New York. You?

Better we keep that option open here. [ Well, Bruce did know about Asgard back in his world at least, so other populated worlds across the galaxy aren't exactly news to him. Other universes, however... ] I was in New York, too.

[ Not where he was headed before ending up here, but details. ]

Sure, why not. Sorry your first acquaintance isn't an alien overlord. [Not that that means Claudia's ever a disappointment. Not in her own view, anyway.] Though we're both from New York, so what the hell's going to surprise us anymore.

[hyperkinesia]

I know. What a huge disappointment. [ He's joking there, of course. Then he goes on to add, not quite so jokingly. ] And you never know. We might not even be from the same New York.

[Joke away, gentleman. She's caught on the last part.]

[hyperkinesia]

Well...

[ He knows just the way to figure this one out, actually. ]

Have you ever heard of the Avengers?

Uh. [The Avengers? Squint.] No? What is that, a music band? I'm supposed to know this stuff.

[hyperkinesia]

Then I'm gonna go on a limb and say we're not from the same New York. [ He'll explain the Avengers in a bit, but first, he adds. ] Unless you're from before 2012, but even then you'd have heard of Tony Stark, Stark Industries...?

[ She seems to be from about the same time as he is, but who can tell for sure. ]

Whoa, whoa, whoa. We're talking time now, too? [?!] It's - the year's 2022, not 2012.

[She lifts both hands, brows pressed together to shake her head.] What are we talking about again?

[hyperkinesia]

Alright, then we are definitely not from the same world. And it was 2015 for me, the last I checked.

[ Probably not the same here, he figures. If this place even has the same measure of time at all. ]

Being able to pull people from all these different worlds and universes, I kind of figured they could manage different points in time, too. [ He shrugs. ] So I took a wild guess.

[invariable]

[... huh.]

Aren't you a smart cookie.

[and then- ]

Assuming you're not just full of shit right now.

[hyperkinesia]

I can only really give you my word that I'm not.

[ But then why would he even lie about being from the past, really. ]

That leads us to an easy question, then. How much is your word worth?

[hyperkinesia]

It's all I have.

[ Take from that what you will. ]

How about you? I can't really know for sure that you're from 2022, either.

Nothing to lose kinda guy, then.

[It could be a question or a statement - her tone leaves it ambiguous.]

Unfortunately, my word isn't worth that much. My line of work requires me to be a good liar.

[hyperkinesia]

You could say that.

[ And it would very much be the truth. ]

That right? [ Color him curious. ] And what's your line of work?

Secret service. Not so secret around these parts, but whatever. I'm not working for them while I'm here, anyway.

[so carefree about it, too.]

You do anything interesting?

[hyperkinesia]

Really? I can honestly say I am surprised. [ He wouldn't have pegged her as a secret agent, but then what does he know. ]

I'm a physicist, actually. So, a lot of science work. But... I was also part of a team, before coming here.

[invariable]

A physicist and a team player. You just keep gaining points, Bruce.

[Is she sarcastic?! Hard to tell. Why can't you be upfront, Claudia.]

Go on.

[hyperkinesia]

[ Yeah, he can't tell either, but he works on that assumption. Not like he's much of a team player anymore, in any case. ]

Well, back in my world we have the Avengers initiative. A group of people with... extraordinary skills and abilities. Some superhuman, others not so much. Fighting off alien invasions, stopping the bad guys from doing bad things-- that kind of stuff. [ Said a little simply and with a hint of humor, but he really is very serious there. ]

[There's a frown quickly followed by the arch of a brow. People with extraordinary skills hardly sounds like it's that spectacular. Reasons for a spotlight, sure, but why put it so vaguely?

Until he mentions alien invasions, anyway.]

... Right. So. You're gifted, and you... use the power of science to stop aliens from taking over New York.

[hyperkinesia]

[ She's probably not thinking of the right kind of 'extraordinary'. Well, she might for some of them, but others are pretty far beyond extraordinary, and outright insane. Case in point. ]

No. I used the ability I have of turning into a really big green rage-fuelled monster. [ A pause. ] But science too, sometimes. [ Not at the same time, that would be a disaster. ]

[Well, 'gifted' in her world means super powers, so there you go.
