TEST DRIVE Welcome to Visada's TDM! Feel free to get as creative as you'd like with these prompts. None of the threads will count as game canon. This is just to give you a chance to play around with the setting and get a general idea of just some of things that can be done in the game. OPTION 1 Mistress Philenor, one of the vivacious butterfly-winged fairies that runs a shop in town, has asked you and another helpful soul to go out to the small lake on the northwestern side of the island and pick some Swallowtails. She needs a bushel of the flowers to make more of her popular aphrodisiacs. You and your partner for the outing leave the village and make your way to your destination. The water in the lake is clear and fresh, you can almost see all the way to the bottom. A small island sits in the middle of the lake, within swimming distance to those so athletically inclined. A tiny stream travels off to the west, emptying into the sea. On the southern shores of the lake grow the Swallowtails: great flowers of vibrant hues of blue. Just remember Philenor's warning. Breathing too deeply of the pollen may have unintended consequences. OPTION 2 Word arrives by lamassu post that there's unrest with the sea dragons. They're refusing to aid the villagers and transportation between the main island and the smaller one to the east has been cut off. People have been stranded there for two days now and something must be done. You volunteer to help and head toward the eastern shore. Maybe you meet others on your way and you decide to work together to see if you can resolve this. Maybe you enlist someone else's help when you learn that Lagiocrus (an ancient blue dragon) is cross with his nephew Jura (a young, free spirited green fellow who doesn't have much respect for people yet) over his foolish courtship of the princess Galzra (a haughty blue dragon from the far north). All of the other dragons in the vicinity are too caught up in the drama to worry about the petty concerns of mortals. Convince Lagiocrus that young love should triumph, or at least be allowed to get its heart broken. Talk up Jura to the disinterested object of his affection. Try to get Jura to see that there are other dragons in the sea. Or find some other way to either end the argument or lure the other dragons' interest back to helping out their landlocked neighbors. OPTION 3 After a long week, you want nothing more than to relax at the beach. It's a great day for it. Fair skies, warm sands, calm surf, and naked bodies sunning themselves along the shore. Wait. Yes, that's right. This is a nude beach. Or if it wasn't, it is now that the first visitor decided to exchange bathing suit for birthday suit. Do you join in? Ogle your neighbors? Swagger up to the hottie on the yellow towel a few yards away and start a conversation? Have fun. Enjoy yourself. You've earned the day off. OPTION 4 Wildcard! Make up your own prompt! Play around with the setting however you'd like.

[There's a frown quickly followed by the arch of a brow. People with extraordinary skills hardly sounds like it's that spectacular. Reasons for a spotlight, sure, but why put it so vaguely?

[ She's probably not thinking of the right kind of 'extraordinary'. Well, she might for some of them, but others are pretty far beyond extraordinary, and outright insane. Case in point. ]

No. I used the ability I have of turning into a really big green rage-fuelled monster. [ A pause. ] But science too, sometimes. [ Not at the same time, that would be a disaster. ]

[Well, 'gifted' in her world means super powers, so there you go.

Speaking of which -]

[ Of all the questions to ask. Bruce is actually a little surprised that's what she points out first. ]

It's just what radiation accidents look like on steroids.

[ He's not serious. ]

Right. Which part of physics teaches kids about that.

None, I should hope. One freak accident's more than enough.

[ Well two actually, except the second wasn't an accident so much as a power-thirsty man hellbent on killing Bruce. But he's not going to bring up Blonsky. ]

Okay, so - [She gestures with one hand - trying to imagine what the monster looks like and regretting it - squinting upward with a frown.] You weren't born with it. You're not really gifted?

[hyperkinesia]

[ Depending on what kind of missions they get here, she might just see for herself eventually. For now, though, he can't say he minds that she doesn't know what the other guy looks like. ]

I wouldn't call it a gift, even if I had been born with it. [ Especially then, even. ] But no. There's no one like that in my world, I don't think. Unless you count Norse gods, but then they're not exactly human. Kind of hard to compare.

Huh. Your New York is crazy as hell.

[Or just Earth, Claudia. You can say Earth.]

Well, in any case. I'm gifted. And I was born with it.

You don't know the half of it.

[ The whole universe is insane, really. ]

There's another thing that's different between our worlds. [ He nods at her. ] So, what's your... gift?

[Her answer is as easy as they come, and she - once again - sounds proud when she delivers, posture straight up.]

Invulnerability. Haven't found anything or anyone that can hurt me yet. [She shrugs one shoulder, lips stretching to a preen of a smirk.] Convenient, huh?

[hyperkinesia]

[ Under any other circumstance, Bruce would agree that it's something to be proud of. But right now it hits a little too close to home, reminding him that what can be such a good thing for others, to him it's nothing but a curse. ]

Must be nice. [ He tries to smile, at least. ] The agency you're a part of, everyone there is gifted?

That's right. Unfortunately having superpowers doesn't make them smart, but what can you do. We can't all be green physicists.

[She is clearly the only shiny crayon in the box. Guess how nice it is to work with her, Bruce.]

[hyperkinesia]

No, I guess that's a pretty exclusive kind of club. [ With sarcasm: ] A shame, really.

[ Don't worry, he knows one of you. He's best friends with him, even. ]

[Let's be BFFs too Brucey.]

I wouldn't go that far. It's nice to be exclusive. You need an ego boost, that's what you go to.

Are we still far from the place?

[hyperkinesia]

[ So long as she doesn't call him Brucey. ]

I'd much rather just be normal, honestly. [ Being a monster isn't all it's cracked up to be. ]

No, it's just ahead. [ And lo and behold, after a few seconds they're approaching some stands and small coffeeshops with plenty of food to choose from. Because things just line up perfectly like that. ] What are you in the mood for?

No such thing. Even for normal people.

[But ouch, someone's gloomy.]

... true, I'll give you that.

[ Welcome to the emotional train wreck that is Bruce Banner. ]

I'll go for a milkshake. [ So, juice bar it is. ]

What flavor. This is an important question.

[ He has an excellent way to burn off calories, it's okay. ]

I feel like strawberry wouldn't make me look any good, would it? [ Joking. Though he does like strawberry. ] Chocolate mint. [ Said to her as much as to the server behind the counter. ]

Strawberry is almost as boring as vanilla. [So good job, Bruce.] Orange juice for me.

So how does it work? The green rage-fueled thing. What makes you get full of rage.

[hyperkinesia]

[ He said he would, so yes, he does pay. Worry, you need not. ]

It's not just about rage. It's the adrenaline. It works as a trigger, if my body releases past a certain level of it. [ A pause, then he adds. ] Not here. They put some kind of magical barrier on it, so I can control it completely.

Huh. Makes sense. [She bites on her lower lip for a moment, swiping her tongue subtly.] So what're you gonna do?

[hyperkinesia]

[ Doesn't make sense even to him sometimes, honestly, both his condition and how the people here managed to just fix it so easily. But he can't say he minds, having full control of himself after so long.

He knits his eyebrows, quiet for a moment before he lifts a shoulder questioningly. ] What am I gonna do about what?
