TEST DRIVE MEME
TEST DRIVE ![]() Welcome to Visada's TDM! Feel free to get as creative as you'd like with these prompts. None of the threads will count as game canon. This is just to give you a chance to play around with the setting and get a general idea of just some of things that can be done in the game. OPTION 1 Mistress Philenor, one of the vivacious butterfly-winged fairies that runs a shop in town, has asked you and another helpful soul to go out to the small lake on the northwestern side of the island and pick some Swallowtails. She needs a bushel of the flowers to make more of her popular aphrodisiacs. You and your partner for the outing leave the village and make your way to your destination. The water in the lake is clear and fresh, you can almost see all the way to the bottom. A small island sits in the middle of the lake, within swimming distance to those so athletically inclined. A tiny stream travels off to the west, emptying into the sea. On the southern shores of the lake grow the Swallowtails: great flowers of vibrant hues of blue. Just remember Philenor's warning. Breathing too deeply of the pollen may have unintended consequences. OPTION 2 Word arrives by lamassu post that there's unrest with the sea dragons. They're refusing to aid the villagers and transportation between the main island and the smaller one to the east has been cut off. People have been stranded there for two days now and something must be done. You volunteer to help and head toward the eastern shore. Maybe you meet others on your way and you decide to work together to see if you can resolve this. Maybe you enlist someone else's help when you learn that Lagiocrus (an ancient blue dragon) is cross with his nephew Jura (a young, free spirited green fellow who doesn't have much respect for people yet) over his foolish courtship of the princess Galzra (a haughty blue dragon from the far north). All of the other dragons in the vicinity are too caught up in the drama to worry about the petty concerns of mortals. Convince Lagiocrus that young love should triumph, or at least be allowed to get its heart broken. Talk up Jura to the disinterested object of his affection. Try to get Jura to see that there are other dragons in the sea. Or find some other way to either end the argument or lure the other dragons' interest back to helping out their landlocked neighbors. OPTION 3 After a long week, you want nothing more than to relax at the beach. It's a great day for it. Fair skies, warm sands, calm surf, and naked bodies sunning themselves along the shore. Wait. Yes, that's right. This is a nude beach. Or if it wasn't, it is now that the first visitor decided to exchange bathing suit for birthday suit. Do you join in? Ogle your neighbors? Swagger up to the hottie on the yellow towel a few yards away and start a conversation? Have fun. Enjoy yourself. You've earned the day off. OPTION 4 Wildcard! Make up your own prompt! Play around with the setting however you'd like. |

[ Carry out a diplomatic mission to sea dragons? Sounds like fun to her. Why not? The worst that could happen is that she pisses them off. But she isn't that bad with making negotiations. And if they are any kind of creatures governed by reason then logic shouldn't be that hard for them to grasp. Especially if it's coming from an outside party not too close to "the drama" with nothing personally invested.
Or it would make them more prone to not listen at all.
She'll just have to go see. ]

[ It's not easy, trying to relax. She's good at faking it, like the actress she is. But coming to a place that looks more like a resort than a place to crash in between missions? That was going to take some getting used to. But it was nice. Very nice. Not too fancy, could easily become a decent enough home if she decided to stay here for a while.
The weather and climate was good, nothing overbearing. The... magical element was pretty noticeable but she was able to take it in stride. Knewing Thor and Asgard helped.
Bet taking walks to familiarize herself with the place was a must. Only way to do it. At least here, she didn't have to worry so much about being undercover. Making her way to the business district, she's in enough of a good mood to say 'hello' to anyone who greets her. ]

[Really, it was the red that had drawn his attention, making him turn from the parcels of tea he'd been looking over to see what it had been. Red hair. Oh, it was such a lovely red, too. Bright and vibrant and he thought it would be quite soft to the touch.
Not that he'd do such a forward thing, no. Not with someone he didn't even know. Yet.
But when she caught his eye and offered a hello, he could do no less than return it, paired with a short bow and a cheeky grin.]

You certainly are a friendly bunch, here.
[ Considering he was a satyr, of course she thought he was a native of this world. ]
no subject
Here? Well, I suppose they are, yes, though I'd like to think I'd want to make friends anywhere.
no subject
You're not from here?
no subject
Why, no, of course not. Are you?
no subject
[ A beat, ]
Where are you from, if not here?

The fact that they reminded her so much of the high dragons of Thedas, even though they took noticeably different forms, wasn't helping either.
But Josephine was far from too far out of her element to offer Natasha a polite smile before greeting her, voice somewhat hushed so as to not easily be heard by the dragons in question, now a ways away. ]
I'm glad that I'm not the only one trying to deal with this. Though I don't know if you'll have any greater luck than I-do you already know the details, or should I share them with you?
[ Realizing suddenly that she'd leapt immediately into work mode without so much as introducing herself, Josephine blushed slightly before offering her hand to Natasha to shake. ]
I am Josephine Montilyet, by the way. Of Antiva.
[ Her accent-and features-would much more closely match what Natasha would know as Spain, but that came from coming from another world. ]
no subject
Natasha Romanoff of... All Over.
[ She takes her hand and gives it a shake. ]
Tell me what you know and we'll go from there.
[ Even if it's all stuff she already heard. There could be a chance she found out something new. ]

[ Turning back towards the dragons, she pointed out the three most important in turn. ]
Those three are Lagiocrus, Jura, and Galzra. Jura is attempting to court Galzra and largely failing, while Lagiocrus, Jura's uncle, is cross with him for making the attempt.
[ If Josephine wasn't so used to spending time with nobility and royalty, she'd find the whole thing absurd-but having been the ambassador for the Inquisition, time and time again she'd had to help others with their problems before they came to help with the much more pressing problems of the Inquisition itself. ]
They're all stubborn, and they all seem to be of the school of thought that our problems are far less relevant than their intrigues, even if ours are matters of life and death.
no subject
That sounds familiar.
[ She then sighs through her nose and nods, ]
Maybe we should talk to the elder first, seek his opinion out while also showing respect in addressing him first. If they are stubborn and proud, that could be one way to make them listen.
no subject
[ At least the dragons viewing the affairs of humans as so far beneath them would mean that the trio would likely not remember her attempts to negotiate with them mere hours ago. Having tried plenty herself, Josephine allowed Natasha to take the lead. ]
2
Poor, kind devil.]
At least they speak a common tongue. Right?
[And that there are other people championing the cause or so he hopes.]
no subject
That's one point in our favor. Not sure how much good it will do, though.
[ She looks back over at him, ]
Got any ideas?
no subject
Everything needs to be in writing. I mean, that will prevent poor recollection of what's discussed. This is a he said, he said, she said.... right?
no subject
And you think dragons will adhere to a written contract?
[ Sorry, Matt. She's skeptical about that. ]
no subject
[He'll take that skepticism as it comes. It only fuels his determination.]
no subject
I suppose. They probably won't agree but their words being on record is better than not.
[ She huffs a small laugh, ]
We're starting to sound like lawyers.
no subject
I should hope that I do. I am a lawyer.
[Sigh. And this might not even be the sort of thing he can wrap up. Matt shakes his head a little.]
Record to keep things straight. Maybe to take down and organize demands to best negotiate terms. It'd be great if they were into contracts.
no subject
Ah.
[ Well. Okay. A blind lawyer. Why not. But she nods at what he says, ]
I'll leave the talking to you then. I can write everything down. I know shorthand.
[ Being a legal assistant for Stark had proved useful after all. ]
no subject
[And yes, that is a blind joke. Matt taps his chin thoughtfully.]
In case things start to go awry... we should have some kind of signals or verbal cues. If this gets bad, I have a suspicion that we're responsible for our own safety.
[Because of dragons.]
no subject
Don't worry, I'll protect you.
[ And she'll be able to spot things going awry long before he does. She assumes. ]
no subject
That's incredibly gallant of you. Thanks. Uh...
[Matt licks his lips.]
I was hoping of forming an exit plan that wouldn't involve risking either of our safety.
no subject
I enter dangerous situations all the time. And I can't form an exit plan without knowing how big these dragons are, all of what they can do. Although I am pretty good at improvising...
