TEST DRIVE Welcome to Visada's TDM! Feel free to get as creative as you'd like with these prompts. None of the threads will count as game canon. This is just to give you a chance to play around with the setting and get a general idea of just some of things that can be done in the game. OPTION 1 Mistress Philenor, one of the vivacious butterfly-winged fairies that runs a shop in town, has asked you and another helpful soul to go out to the small lake on the northwestern side of the island and pick some Swallowtails. She needs a bushel of the flowers to make more of her popular aphrodisiacs. You and your partner for the outing leave the village and make your way to your destination. The water in the lake is clear and fresh, you can almost see all the way to the bottom. A small island sits in the middle of the lake, within swimming distance to those so athletically inclined. A tiny stream travels off to the west, emptying into the sea. On the southern shores of the lake grow the Swallowtails: great flowers of vibrant hues of blue. Just remember Philenor's warning. Breathing too deeply of the pollen may have unintended consequences. OPTION 2 Word arrives by lamassu post that there's unrest with the sea dragons. They're refusing to aid the villagers and transportation between the main island and the smaller one to the east has been cut off. People have been stranded there for two days now and something must be done. You volunteer to help and head toward the eastern shore. Maybe you meet others on your way and you decide to work together to see if you can resolve this. Maybe you enlist someone else's help when you learn that Lagiocrus (an ancient blue dragon) is cross with his nephew Jura (a young, free spirited green fellow who doesn't have much respect for people yet) over his foolish courtship of the princess Galzra (a haughty blue dragon from the far north). All of the other dragons in the vicinity are too caught up in the drama to worry about the petty concerns of mortals. Convince Lagiocrus that young love should triumph, or at least be allowed to get its heart broken. Talk up Jura to the disinterested object of his affection. Try to get Jura to see that there are other dragons in the sea. Or find some other way to either end the argument or lure the other dragons' interest back to helping out their landlocked neighbors. OPTION 3 After a long week, you want nothing more than to relax at the beach. It's a great day for it. Fair skies, warm sands, calm surf, and naked bodies sunning themselves along the shore. Wait. Yes, that's right. This is a nude beach. Or if it wasn't, it is now that the first visitor decided to exchange bathing suit for birthday suit. Do you join in? Ogle your neighbors? Swagger up to the hottie on the yellow towel a few yards away and start a conversation? Have fun. Enjoy yourself. You've earned the day off. OPTION 4 Wildcard! Make up your own prompt! Play around with the setting however you'd like.

[ He steps over and takes a seat next to her, shifting around to try and make himself a little more comfortable. ]

So how long have you been here?

[ She puts the sketchpad and set of pencils down on the floor of the porch and pulls her legs up to sit cross-legged, turned toward Bruce. ]

Not long, just a couple of days or so. You?

Same. Still getting used to... all this.

[ He gestures vaguely around them, though he really means everything. The place, the missions, the rest. ]

[notpatsy]

Yeah, no kidding. I mean, I knew the world was a lot stranger than what most people thought just a few years ago but this... this is kind of taking it to the next level.

[ Fairies and dragons and sex magic? Yeah, that is a stretch even for her very willing imagination. ]

[hyperkinesia]

You're not alone there. Something like this shouldn't even be possible. We do know there are strange new places out there, but this is pretty... well, out-there.

[ And sure, the world has seen Asgardians and what they can do, but this whole place still takes the cake. Frankly, the simple fact that they can just give Bruce complete control over the monster is enough for him to know that this is unlike anything he'd ever thought he'd see in his lifetime.

It yet remains to be seen if it really works or not, but still. ]

How come you ended up here?

[ Is that a too personal question? Trish isn't actually sure, but then again he doesn't have to answer if he doesn't want to. ]

I wasn't headed anywhere in particular.

[ That's it, pretty much. He lacked a purpose or reason, wherever it was he'd end up. So he figured, why not? ]

I wanted to go away. Can't get much more 'away' than an alternate universe, right?

[notpatsy]

Wow, that sounds depressing.

[ And oddly makes her think a little of Jessica. ]

[hyperkinesia]

[ He can't help letting out a short laugh at that, quiet and a little bitter, more sad than anything. ]

Well, that's me. [ He doesn't seem particularly bothered by it. It's something he's learned to live with by now. ]

[notpatsy]

We need to work on getting some positive vibes into you, Bruce.

[ Yep, we. She has decided that they are now friends and that means she is going to help him feel better.

Possibly whether he wants her to or not. ]

[hyperkinesia]

We?

[ Yes, he noticed that. And he can't help feeling amused and a little uncomfortable with it, even if he knows she only has good intentions in mind. ]

What exactly do you propose? A puppy cuddling pile? [ Actually yes that would be pretty great. ]

[notpatsy]

Yep, though considering what fuels this place I really should have phrased that differently. I am not suggesting shoving a bunch of high quality vibrators into your butt. Wow, that was really crude for a first conversation, sorry. The puppies are an awesome idea though, I don't see why you're sounding all sceptical.

[ Jesus, Trish, just shut up. ]

[hyperkinesia]

[ Bruce's expression opens into dumbfounded surprise, eyebrows going up his forehead in an almost comical way. Well, at least she succeeded in getting him off a more depressing topic. Even if now he's again worrying about this place's mechanics. ]

Wow. Alright, for the record, no vibrators on my butt. [ Or anywhere else on him, thank you very much. ] And I was just kidding with the puppy idea. Sounds a little ridiculous, don't you think?

[notpatsy]

Also for the record, I said in your butt.

[ Stop talking about his butt, Trish, seriously. Hopefully he gets that she's just kidding here or this is going to get hella awkward.

Well, even more awkward than it already kind of is. ]

And what's ridiculous about letting a bunch of puppies put a smile on your face? Pretty sure there are studies around that show that animals are good for depression and anxiety.

[ Yes Trish, please stop talking about his butt. He does know she's kidding but it still doesn't make this any less awkward. ]

There are, as a matter of fact. [ Leave it to the scientist to know these things. ] Petting them or playing with them triggers the release of specific hormones that just... make you feel good. [ But it wouldn't fix his problems. ]

[notpatsy]

No butt stuff, got it.

[ She lets out a little laugh, pulling a hand through her hair. ]

Wow, I am making such a terrible first impression right now.

[hyperkinesia]

[ He smiles bashfully, letting out a soft chuckle as he glances down for a moment. ]

Don't worry about it.

[ He's been friends with Tony for years, he's had to put up with a lot worse. ]

How about we just change the subject away from our private parts? [ He winces because wow, that's an unfortunate choice of words. ]

[notpatsy]

[ She laughs and nods. ]

Sounds like a plan. Anyway, I wasn't suggesting that puppies would solve anything, but it's not wrong to just do things because they make you smile sometimes.

[hyperkinesia]

No, it's not wrong at all.

[ But a pile of puppies was just a silly joke, really. Even if Bruce really loves dogs. ]

What are your coping methods? I promise you, this is a no-judgment zone because whatever you're doing is very probably not worse than what I've tried.

[ Or what Jessica does for that matter. ]

[hyperkinesia]

[ Bruce's coping methods are more or less the opposite of the ones Trish is thinking of, most especially because he can't really go for those without risking half a city being levelled. ]

Well, I meditate a lot. I listen to calming music, that always helps. Work keeps me busy, and I like reading.

[ How much more like a dating add can this sound. ]

[notpatsy]

Sounds good for staying calm. What makes you happy though?

[ If it helps you any, Bruce, the invasiveness is born out of genuine concern. ]

[hyperkinesia]

[ That actually gives him pause, as he thinks about that question and realizes he doesn't really know how to answer it. Pressing his lips into a thin line, he lifts his hands and shoulders up in a shrug. ]

I don't know. Work makes me happy, I guess. [ Or used to, anyway. Considering his most recent experience, he's not so sure anymore. He could say his friends, but right now that's more a source of sadness than anything else. He lets out a sigh, grinning weakly. ] You're asking me a very difficult question, you know.

[notpatsy]

Yeah, I'm a pain in the ass like that.

[ And she has definitely spotted something that is in dire need of fixing. Bruce doesn't have things to be happy about. ]

[hyperkinesia]

Yes, I can already tell you're gonna be a pain in my ass.

[ Said in good humor, of course. And just because of where their conversation was a moment ago, he adds as he points a finger in her general direction. ] Metaphorically speaking.

[ Crossing his arms again, he gently nudges the conversation in another direction. ]

What sort of things make you happy, then?
