Bruce did his best to help, which at the moment seemed to be to do nothing at all, and instead put a safe and respectable amount of distance between them. He might not know from experience what she might be feeling right now, but he could take a guess that it wasn't easy or pleasant, and he didn't want to make it even more difficult for her.

"Any luck?" He tried to peek at her hand, still spotting the stain even from a few feet away. He looked around, though he knew it was pointless - there wasn't much at all that could help them around here. "Maybe we should just keep going. The fairy might be able to help you once we get there."

Never mind that he didn't even know if she'd be able to manage the rest of the walk, but at least they could try.
