Bruce lowered himself by the stream too, wetting his hands first, then leaning down to take just a little bit of water to his lips. Not nearly as much as she, and when she wobbled, he stood up too, thinking she was about to lose her balance for one reason or another.

That reason became all too apparent when she spoke, holding her hand out to him. He immediately looked down at his own, but he hadn't held onto the flowers for nearly as long as she had, and he had no stains there. Which he would normally be grateful for, but right now it was probably going to make things very awkward and complicated. "The water-- it doesn't wash off, does it? Jesus.
