[ Natasha stops in her walking when he speaks up, turning her head enough to see him out of her periphery but not facing him fully, keeping her back to him. She listens, doesn't interrupt but even at the end of it there's nothing that she can say that won't escalate the situation. There's nothing she can say that doesn't sound angry and cold.
She's come to terms with Bruce not wanting to be with her. His reasoning, however good intentioned it may be, only feels insulting and patronizing to her. So, she lets it go rather than make it worse.
(Which may end up making it worse, anyway.)
She turns her head back to facing forward and continues walking down the dirt road, not really caring for the moment where it would take her. ]
